Summertime. We need to keep cool & hydrated... but that doesn't mean you can only drink water ALL the time. Take some time to learn some fun & delicious recipes that will keep your skin healthy all summer long. Below are a few of our faves:
1. Cucumber & Lime Water
Ingredients:
2L Water
2 Cucumbers
2 Limes
Recipe (for 1 pitcher):
Pour Water into Pitcher
Peel cucumbers & slice into 1/2 inch
Slice limes into 1/2 inch
Add to water and let sit overnight
Why It's Great:
Besides refreshing, this drink is the ultimate hydrator! Cucumbers are great for giving your skin extra hydration since it is made up of mostly water and has excellent anti-inflammatory capabilities, leaving you with less bloat & puffiness.
2. Sparkling Raspberry Lemonade
Ingredients:
3/4 Cup Sugar
2 Cups Water
2 Cups Fresh Raspberries
1/2 Cup Fresh Orange Juice
1 3/4 Cups Fresh Lemon Juice
16 oz. Sparkling Water
Recipe:
Combine all ingredients & refrigerate.
Why It's Great:
Raspberries have incredible anti-aging benefits. Also, due to the antioxidant powers of vitamin C it holds, age spots & discoloration will diminish & protect your skin from the sun's harsh summer rays.
3. Yes Way, Frose!
Ingredients:
1 Bottle Rose
1/2 Cup Sugar
8 oz Strawberries, quartered
3/4 Lemon, juiced
Recipe:
1. Freeze rose in a baking pan
2. Dissolve sugar by adding to 1/2 cup of water in medium saucepan and stirring on high heat
3. Stir-in strawberries to dissolved sugar & remove from heat. Let sit for at least 30 minutes.
4. Strain into a small bowl & chill for 30 minutes.
5. Scrape rose & combine with sugar/strawberry syrup and lemon juice in blender.
Why It's Great:
Okay, we moved into alcohol. Frose is an excellent summer cocktail because it is light & refreshing on a hot, hot day. Lemons will help to brighten skin & strawberries are very effective in removing sebum from skin & the visibility of skin redness.
4. Skinny Mango Margarita
Ingredients:
1 Cup Frozen Diced Mango
2 Tbsp Fresh Lime Juice
2 Tbsp Fresh Orange Juice
1 oz Tequila
1/2 Tbsp Powdered Sugar
1/2 Cup Ice
Recipe:
Combine all ingredients in a blender and enjoy!
